Requiem Mass for Joseph C. Bequette, 72, Blackwell [St. Francois County], was at 10 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 12, 1970, at St. Joseph Church, Tiff with the Rev. Bernard Suellentrop officiating.  Burial was in the parish cemetery under the direction of Mothershead Funeral Home.

Mr. Bequette died February 9 at his home at Blackwell after a lenghty illness.  Survivors include: Three sons, Charles Bequette, Spokane, Wash., and Joseph and Mehl Bequette, Blackwell; a daughter, Mrs. William (Evelyn) Thomas, Kansas City, MO. one brother, Eugene Bequette, Blackwell; six sisters, Mary Missey, Blackwell, Josephine Bequette, Sarah Craig, Rosa Ward, Ida Courtois, and Elba Courtway, all of De Soto; 12 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
